I’m down here in sunny Daytona Beach, Florida, this week for the 55th Running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona. With 55 cars on the entry list, it’s certainly going to be an exciting event. Our Mazda Motorsports team has been tirelessly working on our two RT24-Ps and all of the preparation that is required for such an extensive race.
I’m really excited to see it all come together, knowing all the hard work in the shop will pay off! Overall, it’s going to be a really dynamic race. Because the Dpi platform is new, all of the teams running in that category don’t know yet what they don’t know! There are a lot of unknowns because none of the cars have been tested for 24 hours yet, so it will be interesting to see which of the teams can handle issues as they arise and persevere to the end of the race.
