We had a cold, windy weekend for the Roar Before the 24 at Daytona, but it was exciting to see all the new, shiny equipment that the teams brought. There was a multitude of new cars in the Continental Tire Series, not to mention new Prototype and GT teams on the WeatherTech side. It was really an eye candy weekend for the fans!

Speaking of fans, a bunch showed up at the Roar, including a camping event with the Boy Scouts. There was a Prototype Challenge race on Saturday that provided some action for everyone who was there. The Roar had more fans than in any years past that I can remember. If that’s any indication for what’s to come this season with IMSA, I think it will be a pretty exciting year with a lot to look forward to, for both the competitors and fans.

I’m excited to be a part of the program Britt Casey, Jr. has put together with Compass Racing (formerly Compass 360) in the Continental Tire Series. You can read about the Audi RS3 LMS we’ll be driving in the TCR class here.

This is a unique opportunity for me, personally, because I’ve been racing against Compass since 2008, when Freedom Autosport entered the series. We’ve been competitors for a long time, and Compass has always been a powerhouse touring car team. Now, I’ll be running one of these new TCR cars under their banner. Compass has a lot of experience as of late with Audi, and I can’t think of a better fit than for those two to come together.

Over the past two seasons, Britt and I have been very successful together, so I’m looking forward to continuing that going into this season!
