This past week was a welcome rest, with a few days at home to spend time with my family and to recharge the batteries. I’ve come to appreciate how resting and recharging can be a valuable part of a racing routine! It helps with that balance of quality versus quantity.
After a weekend at home, I’m off to New Orleans this week for the second round of the SRO World Challenge championship at NOLA Motorsports Park. I’m excited to be working with a team in the GT4 series. It will be my first time working with the team, and this will be their first race of the year.
We had a very productive test last month, which showed a lot of promise as we head into the race this week. NOLA will be an interesting one since it’s the first time both the team and the drivers have been to the circuit. As for me, I’ve been there once before last year, so it will be an exciting opportunity to share my knowledge while continuing to build my own playbook for the track!
The drivers will get a test day prior to the start of the event. We’ll kick off with a valuable track walk, during which we’ll review everything that we’ve discussed in advance during our virtual track walk and simulator training sessions.
I’ll have a full report next week about how it all went for the team in the ultra-competitive GT4 series, which has more than 40 entries expected this weekend!
