It was absolutely fantastic to make my first visit to Road America this summer. I just love the surrounding area and the track itself, and all that is on offer in that part of Wisconsin. However, the on-track component of my trip last week wasn’t meant to be. I had gone up to Road America to work with Reg Williams for the International GT race event, but his car was out of commission after the test day due to an internal engine malfunction.

That relegated us to a very abbreviated event! We were still able to enjoy some time together, and then I headed home early for unexpected family time, which is always very welcome since I have another busy week ahead.

I’m heading back to Watkins Glen this week for the next round of Sprint Challenge, and hopefully I’ll have better luck this time around! The forecast looks gorgeous, and I always enjoy my time up north during the summer months, especially at some of these iconic North American racetracks.

I hope everyone enjoys their Fourth of July and long holiday weekend, and I look forward to reporting back next week on how our race weekend goes.
