I’m just returning from a great trip to Road America, where IMSA had their most recent round. I was working with the JDX team, which campaigns four cars in the Carrera Cup series. In the end, it was a successful event, not only for Elias De La Torre but also for the entire JDX team, who came away with great results and arguably the team’s best collective performance of the season.

For Elias, Road America was his second-best event of the year from a points perspective. The 18-year-old’s season continues to show great promise as his driving skills just keep improving. Elias is getting stronger and stronger at every round. Not only was it his second-best points outing, but his 5th-place finish in race one tied his best outright race result.

It’s exciting to see the growth that Elias and the entire team have had this year. The expectation bar rises at each event on the calendar! The championship points picture is becoming more clear now with only three events still remaining, and three of the JDX cars are inside the top ten.

I have a short turnaround now, as I’m heading back up to Road America this week for the next Sprint Challenge event. I certainly love that track at this time of year, and I’m not complaining at all about spending so much time there! It’s so beautiful in that area of Wisconsin, especially in summer.

And after tallying all the votes in last week’s Road Atlanta vs. Road America poll on Facebook, it seems like Road America is the winner! I’ll certainly toast to that during my time there this week. If you haven’t voted on your favorite yet, you can weigh in here!

I always love my time at Road America in the summers. We had beautiful weather, and it’s fun to see the constant improvements the facility makes each year, like this tiki beachside vibe view outside the famed Kink.
