I just returned from a great weekend at Barber Motorsports Park. It was refreshing to get back to that beautiful facility, which has garnered so many special winning memories for me in the past. Those memories set a precedent, as I got new winning memories this weekend with the Krugspeed Supra team. They got their first win of the season in the GT4 America Am category!

We started the event off with a trackwalk to discuss all the finer points of the circuit since this venue was a first for many drivers.

Arriving to the park with this view brought back many special memories.

The win was especially exciting since the race took a big twist involving a full-course caution, and it makes you remember that anything can happen in racing. The stellar race two result was a true testament to teamwork, not just for the driving but also the strategy and all the pieces coming together to have success.

I’m looking forward to helping Krugspeed finish the year strong at the final venue for the season, which will be Indianapolis Motor Speedway next month.

Barber was also home to a season-best team performance for the RVA Motorsports Graphics team. Drivers Will Robusto and Luke Rumburg finished a season-high fifth and 11th, respectively, in race one. Luke also brought home the Hard Charger Award for his persevering drive through the field.

It’s really rewarding when the hard work pays off from all aspects to get the best results of the season, not just with one program, but with both teams! I’d like to think the good fortune I’ve had at Barber in the past rubbed off on us this weekend, and it was special being back at a track that holds so many great memories for me. Now, I’ve got even more winning memories from Barber!
