This week I’ve been staying busy down at Sebring International Raceway once again, where Apex Driving Events was hosting a test. We had some gorgeous weather on tap, much better than the prior week in Daytona!

I was working with a team that’s a new client for me, a father-son duo who will be competing in IGT this season. I’d been around a lot of the team members before, but I’d never had the opportunity to work with the team directly until now.

We had a fabulous two days of testing. In fact, it probably couldn’t have gone any better! From the cars running flawlessly to making driver improvements and car performance gains, everything came together beautifully and resulted in best-ever lap times for the drivers.

Utilizing the two cars even allowed us some lead-follow opportunity early in the event to accelerate the refamiliarization of the track's nuances.

The cars also went faster than they ever had at that track, as we focused on getting the car setups and other components dialed in, all while setting good data references for driver comparisons throughout the event. Needless to say, both the drivers and team members were ecstatic that the two days were such a success.

I’m excited to be back with the team in a couple of weeks for their first race of the season, which will again be at Sebring. That means this test was really the perfect prep for the drivers, allowing them to knock off the winter rust while also gaining confidence heading into the first race of the year.

I am so pleased that all the effort to both dial in the cars and to utilize all the data and video coaching really paid off. It’s so rewarding when everyone on the team is happy to have achieved their goals and beyond.
