I’ll be heading back to Japan this week for an exciting event at Okayama International Circuit’s Mazda Fan Festival. Mazda has planned a lot of activities for the event, including having our 2016-spec Mazda Prototype there for us to drive exhibition laps.
In addition, Mazda Global MX-5 Cup cars will be running an exhibition race. I’m thrilled to continue bringing the excitement of these cars and this series to Japan. I hope to see some of the motorsport friends I made the last time I was in Japan, when we got to showcase the Global MX-5 Cup Series at the Tsukuba circuit.
Having only driven the Okayama circuit on iRacing, it will be cool to put that simulator practice to use! Check back next week when I’ll have all of the details and photos from the experience. I’ll have a busy schedule when I get back to the U.S. because our Mazda Prototype program will be testing at Daytona during the sanctioned IMSA test just a few days after my return from Japan.
