Last week was a fun opportunity to join Michelin at their annual dealer business conference. For the first time, they were adding a driving element to the event, which was a unique chance for the dealers to experience the latest offerings from Michelin and BF Goodrich.
The event was held in New Orleans, so Michelin utilized NOLA Motorsports Park for the driving component. I was excited to visit the city and the track, since I had never been to either one before. It was nice to finally experience them for myself!
I was there as one of the instructors who provided expertise on some of the driving modules. Specifically, we compared Michelin’s latest offering in the performance all-season category to the current model. The course was an auto-cross format, which was both dry and wet. Unfortunately, however, we couldn’t replicate snowy conditions down there in New Orleans for a true all-season tire test!
It was rewarding to discuss the improved attributes of the tire, then see the dealers experience the product for themselves and really appreciate the advancements over the previous iteration. It was a lot of fun, too!
Overall, the event was a great success with beautiful weather, and I was pleased to be a part of such a unique opportunity.
