Wow, it doesn’t get much better than this past weekend when it comes to my clients’ professional racing success! What an epic weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with SRO World Challenge.
Forbush Performance’s Touring Car drivers Caleb Bacon and Luke Rumberg took first and second in the championship. It was a hard-fought battle throughout the entire season, and the podium results at Indy sealed the championship. It came down to the final race, where both drivers finished on the podium.
In GT4 SprintX, Matt Forbush had an intense battle at the end of the race. He was catching up to the third-place car with every closing, even making a few valiant attempts for a pass. He wasn’t able to make a pass stick to get his first podium, but it was an incredible display of how much progress he has made this season, and I’m very excited for his continued development.
Racing is a team effort!
SRO also hosted the annual Indy 8-hour race, which brings teams from all over the world to compete at the famous Brickyard. This was Ashton Harrison’s debut in the GT3 class. We’ve been working very hard preparing not just for the car but also for this specific race, and it sure paid off! Not only did Ashton display great pace in the opening stint of the race, gaining several positions at the start, but she continued to persevere throughout the event. She and her teammates finished first in class. This was a prime example of hard work paying off, as Ashton’s preparation and focus resulted in her getting to kiss the bricks!

For me, as Ashton’s coach, it was rewarding to be on the radio with her and to assist with working through the challenges that an eight-hour race presents. It was also a fun moment for me to see Ashton driving for the same team, with the same car number, that I found success with in 2018, when Britt Casey, Jr. and I won the IMSA TCR championship.
Reflecting back on the weekend, it was a whirlwind, but the success that I was fortunate enough to be a part of with my clients really made it worth it. It feels amazing when it all comes together!
