It might be the off-season, but last week turned into a busy one! My travel started at the annual PRI show in Indianapolis. I was there on behalf of Mazda to support the MX-5 Cup display. PRI had a terrific turnout, and it was exciting to be back at the show before it was time to head to Daytona Beach to test with Forbush Performance. We were there in preparation for our 2022 season debut in IMSA Michelin Pilot competition.
It was an exciting test, especially since we had the team’s second car on track, too. We fully utilized the opportunity to compare and contrast car setup adjustments and explore the nuances between a car with a full season on it versus a brand-new car. It was an extremely productive test with three days on track, and it was exactly what the team needed to be prepared for the first event of the season, which is only one month away.
As one would expect, we have a large task list that we plan to accomplish prior to our arrival at The Roar Before the 24, which is just one week before the 24 Hours of Daytona this year. The test wrapped up my business travel for the year, and I’m now looking forward to spending time with my family before my very busy 2022 rolls around.
