I’m really excited to be with Ashton Harrison and Wayne Taylor Racing today. We’re at Putnam Park to shake down our Lamborghini Super Trofeo Evo cars. Putnam Park, which is a club track that I’ve never been to before, is close to the WTR shop in Indianapolis, so it’s a great spot for a test.
There’s been an update to the bodywork aerodynamics and brake package for the 2022 Lamborghini Super Trofeo season, and this is the team’s first opportunity to get the updated cars on track before we load up and head to Laguna Seca next weekend for the first round of the season.
Our goals for today include refamiliarization with the cars and making sure the new bodywork and brake package are working as designed. It’s not only a shakedown of the car, but it’s also a shakedown for new team members, like me. I’m getting to know the team better, and it’s a great opportunity for all of us to bond before the first race.
I’ve been fortunate to be with Ashton on this WTR program for a few years now, so there are a lot of familiar faces on this four-car team, but it’s a new role for me. Instead of just coaching Ashton, I’m going to be behind the wheel with her now!
When we get to Laguna Seca, it will be a whirlwind of an event. Not only is our schedule condensed, but I’ll be splitting my time between this program and Forbush Performance in Michelin Pilot Challenge. It’s going to be busy but exciting!
