Racing season is in full swing, and this coming weekend is the next round of the IMSA championship at Mid-Ohio. Mid-Ohio is a track that has been very good to me over the years. I’ve been fortunate to clinch championships at that circuit, with my first championship events there dating back to my days racing at the SCCA Runoffs.
Forbush Performance had a very competitive effort at Laguna Seca just two weekends ago, and the team is setting their hopes high on continuing that momentum heading into this round of the Michelin Pilot Challenge Series. The nature of Mid-Ohio should lend itself well to the strengths of our Toyota Supra GT4. Mid-Ohio is a very unique track. It has a really fun flow which undulates in several particular places, with blind crests and all kinds of cambers to the corners.
Not only is this weekend the next round of the Michelin Pilot Challenge Series, but it’s also the next round of Mazda MX-5 Cup after a two-month break. This third venue of the MX-5 Cup season—featuring rounds five and six—will help set the tempo for our summer schedule, which features a race each month. An emerging points battle promises that it’s going to be an exciting summer of racing.
You can tune in at IMSA.com to keep up with the results throughout the weekend at Mid-Ohio, and be sure to follow along on my social media for updates.
