I’m looking forward to the week ahead at Virginia International Raceway! It’s a welcome change with VIR being my home track, and a less hectic travel schedule. I’ve got a couple of track days on tap here with the Ingram Experience for the first part of the week, then we’ll be gearing up for the big race weekend with SRO World Challenge.
I’m looking forward to getting together again with the two SRO teams I’m working with this season. They both have a couple of races under their belt now, and they’re in the full swing of their season routine. The big advantage to this is that we can really start to build on their consistency from the previous events, and we can work on any specifics where we feel like there’s opportunity for growth.
It just so happens that this is the home race for one of the teams. Not only is it important for them to have a good showing for the championship, but they also want to have a good showing for all the special guests that will be there to cheer them on! It will be a busy weekend for them beyond getting great results on the track, but it will be a fun one, too.
Both of the teams have been fortunate to test at VIR this season, so we’re truly hitting the ground running with our game plans. We hope to be able to capitalize on that solid foundation this weekend.
