The latest Ingram Driving Experience at Virginia International Raceway, held earlier this week, was really exciting because they had some very special guests on hand. Among those guests were Mark Webber and Patrick Long, and they were giving the participants rides in Ingram’s new Porsche 918 and in their Carrera GT.

Tommy Kendall was also there, acting as the event emcee. He hosted the entire day and told a lot of stories about his racing. As a whole, there were probably just 30-40 people there, so it was a really exclusive experience for them.

Other special guests included Nick Hunziker, who is an incredible artist. He even did an event poster for this Ingram event so participants could get them signed by Mark, Patrick, and Tommy. Also on hand was Magnus Walker, a famous niche automotive restorer and Outlaw builder.

My main purpose for being there was to give participants the opportunity to drive in the Ingram Driving Experience cars in a lead-follow format. They got to drive multiple sessions on track and experience VIR’s full course.

An impressive guest list: Mark Webber, Patrick Long, Tommy Kendall, Nick Hunziker, Magnus Walker and Chad McQueen.

We all also did some filming with the Ingram collection of cars, taking them out on the track while camera crews got both car-to-car and aerial photography.

It was a great event, and everyone had such an incredible time meeting all of those guests and getting to drive VIR.

After just one night at home, I’m heading to Road America in Wisconsin for the next Tudor United SportsCar race. I always look forward to going to Road America at this time of the summer. It’s so picturesque and the track has so much history.

Road America is just a fun racetrack to be at. The circuit is a joy to drive, with four miles that cover every type of terrain, like high-speed technical corners and long straights. With all the momentum the team has had the past few races, we’re looking forward to carrying that into Road America. All four classes are together again, so it will be a busy, exciting race.
